Yesterday was one of those sunny days in Taipei (which is so rare) so some of the exchange friends asked us to join them on a nice day out. We had lunch together then headed to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall after.
The weather was so lovely. We really appreciated it since it had always been raining ever since we arrived. But what I don't like was the wind lol. It was way too windy for my taste. Windy = failed pictures lol

There were many people because everyone wanted to enjoy the weather as much as possible but it was not overly crowded.

Next we went to Taipei Zoo station to get on Maokong Gondola. The queue was insanely long! But we waited anyway. Maokong Gondola stops at 4 stations: Taipei Zoo, Taipei Zoo south, Zhinan Temple and Maokong. The cool thing is you can choose between a normal cabin or a crystal cabin which has a see-through floor! Unfortunately we didn't get to go on the crystal one because we didn't want to wait for so long.

We got off at the the last station which is Maokong. Maokong is famous for its tea plantation. There were so many teahouses up there that sell fresh tea and have beautiful views so I would suggest that you do some research before you go so you can decide a bit more easily on which one to go for haha. It got dark really fast once we were at the top so I didn't get many shots of the incredible view up there :/ After walking around for quite a while, we all got hungry. Every restaurant was packed so we couldn't be really picky about where to eat. We settled down at a restaurant with a decent view. We ordered some special dishes like Green tea fried rice and tea flavoured chicken and they were all delicious!

After we stuffed ourselves with yummy food, we went back to the gondola station to come down (and again, the queue was crazy). The ride down was a bit more scary than the one going up because it was dark and more shaky haha.
I really enjoyed that day. It was another awesome day full of laughters with friends :) The weather is supposed to be bad for another week (sucker) so I'm glad I went out and got the most out of that beautiful sunny day!
